Desert After Dark uses rich night colors to reveal a lively desert scene. A fennec fox stands beside patterned rocks, a small owl watches from a cactus, and a lizard rests near a patch of flowers. A crescent moon hangs above violet hills and warm orange sand.
Unlike a scene made mostly of dark sky, this illustration includes contrasting stars, rock bands, plants, and animal shapes across the picture. Children can start with the moon, gather the cactus pieces, or connect the patterned foreground.
The full-size reference poster keeps these details easy to check. The activity card adds 12 finding prompts and optional conversation starters about the pictured scene. All nighttime effects are printed colors: the puzzle does not glow, light up, or require batteries.

🧩 Care, Play & Storage
Use a clean, dry, level surface with room for the finished puzzle and loose pieces. A firm table or floor is more suitable than a soft rug. Keep the reference image nearby and use it whenever helpful.
Age recommendations are starting points. Puzzle experience and the amount of help a child prefers will affect the activity. There is no required completion time.
Handle pieces with dry hands. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; do not soak or wash. Separate connected pieces carefully and store all components indoors, away from moisture and direct heat.
